On Sunday 24 May, the Great West Run is taking place. This involves the closure of Cowley Bridge Road and hence the vehicle entrance to Thomas Hall School.
Our advice, after consulting with several people who have been out in their cars during the run in previous years, is to walk on Sunday 24 if you can. See below for the walking instructions.
There will also be no Waitrose pick-up.
Those who normally drive to church
We recommend leaving double the amount of time to travel to church.
You won't be able to park your car on the school premises. Parking is available in the residential area to the north of the school (West Garth Road) and then you'll access the school on foot via the (normally locked) gate.
You won't be able to use Cowley Bridge Road at all, so your route to West Garth Road will need to use Pennsylvania Road and then Wrefords Lane. Please see the this map from the race organisers to plan your route. If you need any extra help, please reach out to Greg.
Walking instructions
You will be able to walk along Cowley Bridge Road, but the school is only accessed via the same gate off West Garth Road as above. The entrance to the school that we normally use will be closed.
There is a walking route from the university (following the walk that Maggie took some of us on last Easter) that may be an option for those who prefer to avoid the route of the run.
